Everything she's every worked so hard for is gone, and now she's starting over at Hundred Oaks High.

Soccer has always been Taylor's escape from the pressures of school and family, but it's hard to fit in and play on a team that used to be her rival. The only person who seems to understand all that she's going through is her older brother's best friend, Ezra. Taylor's had a crush on him for as long as she can remember. But it's hard to trust after having been betrayed. Will Taylor repeat her past mistakes or can she score a fresh start?

Damn Miranda Kenneally back at it again with the amazing, heart throbbing stories.

Can't you tell this review was written back in April when this phrase was actually really relevant.

Defending Taylor starts off revolving around our main character, Taylor. Taylor many things -- she is a soccer player, daughter of a senator, youngest of three siblings and almost the valedictorian to her classy, boarding school. Well all of these things are true except that last bit. I absolutely love every single story Miranda Kenneally has written and this one has been no different! When I was approved for this book via Netgalley, I downloaded it immediately and read it in one sitting until 4 am. I just could not put this book down.

As if his sudden abandonment weren't betrayal enough, he's about to remarry, and they're expected to play nice with his soon-to-be wife and stepdaughter. The stepdaughter, Camille, agrees to show them around the city, but she makes it clear that she will do everything in her power to make Sophie miserable.

Sophie could deal with all the pain and humiliation if only she could practice piano. Her dream is to become a pianist, and she was supposed to spend the summer preparing for a scholarship competition. Even though her father moved to Paris to peruse his own dream, he clearly doesn't support hers. His promise to provided her with a piano goes unfulfilled.

Still, no one is immune to Paris's charm. After a few encounters with a gorgeous French boy, Sophie finds herself warming to the city, particularly when she discovers that he can help her proactive piano. There's just on hitch -- he's a friend of Camille's, and Camille hates Sophie. While the summer Sophie dreaded promises to become the best summer of her life, one person could ruin
it all.

Sophie can imagine doing a million things this summer, however, the last thing she ever expected was to be in Paris. Every other teenager would die to have an experience like this, but Sophie just wants to be home with her mom and her best friend Jenna.....

Leaving it up to fate, he decides to keep his distance from her. However, he admires her from a far and keeps his eye on her. When they finally meet, it’s instant friendship, well after some bumps along the way haha. In the end, they are in this together because they are being framed for murder! Will they ever figure it out or will they be charged for the crime?

I’ve heard so many good things about this book the past couple weeks and recently even more so. The hype on this book is insane! I really, really wanted to love this book to pieces, I just found so many things wrong with it when there are some really amazing mysteries I’ve read in the past including Sherlock Holmes.  So I guess I’ll start off with the things that I didn’t really like about this book and end on a positive note of what I did like.

The first thing I noticed right off the bat, 3 pages in, was the diction the author chose. Now I do not know if this was just me, but I found it a little confusing and hard to adjust to the first two or so chapters. In the very first chapter she introduces six different people without giving them much detail to support them. Which for me, was really confusing trying to remember these characters and I had to keep back tracking to see which one was which. Maybe that was just me and I thought okay, it’ll get better and it did for the most part, but I have to say for a mystery it really lacked that, “wow,” factor.

This novel was very predictable when it came to who had committed the crime. Which for me, was a letdown because......

Feature and Follow #10 (I'm back!)

April 28, 2016

Hi Guys!

This is my feature and Follow. This is Hosted By Alison Can Read and Parajunkee and by clicking on the link you can learn a little more about how this meme works and how to join :)

This weeks prompt is...

3 favorite heroines, books they're in, and why you love them.

                              Answer|

1.)Juliette from the Shatter me Series! I love Juliette because she never gives up even when all odds are against here she keeps fighting. She admits that she has faults and she Is ashamed of them. Which makes me love her more because it shows that everyone has their insecurities, but you just have to keep looking forward.

2.) I'm going to go with the most cliché answer, but Hermonie from Harry Potter! I absolutely loved Hermonie. She may have been ficitional, but she was still one of my idols growing up. She is one of my favorites because she shows girls that it is okay to be smart and to never be embarrassed of that!

3.)Ahh it's so hard only picking three! The last heroine would probably be Anna from The Sweets Trilogy. I adore this trilogy and it is probably one of my favorite books. I guess I love Anna because she always sees the good in everyone even when she shouldn't!

Leave me a comment to your blog so I can see your favorites and let me know if you've read any of these books!
